Breast reduction is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce the volume of the breasts.
Breast hypertrophy is associated with a large volume of the breasts. It leads to falling breasts, back pain. It can also generate a deformation of the spine, resulting in significant psychological discomfort for the patient. A breast reduction is performed for aesthetic or medical reasons.

THE PROCEDURE
There is a difference between a breast reduction and a breast lift. For breast reduction surgery, in addition to the removal of excess skin, the removal of breast tissue is necessary.

HOW IS A BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY PERFORMED

A breast reduction is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately two to three hours. During the breast reduction, the surgeon often places subcutaneous drains (small tubes) to evacuate secretions.
A support bra should be worn immediately after the operation. Sports activities are not recommended during the first few weeks and work can be resumed after a week of convalescence.
